About The Relationships Lab

A modern healing lab that blends Indian wisdom, cognitive psychology, and structured reflection to help people move through emotional pain with clarity and steadiness.

Why this lab exists

In today's world, people are taught how to build careers, earn money, and stay productive — but almost no one is taught how to feel, heal, or build emotionally healthy relationships.

We learn mathematics and history in school, but not how to handle heartbreak. We learn financial planning, but not emotional planning.

Emotional education is missing from our schools, workplaces, and homes.

The Relationships Lab exists to offer structured, compassionate pathways for emotional clarity — without overwhelm, judgement, or pressure to “fix yourself.”

Who is behind it

The Relationships Lab was born from two journeys that met with a shared purpose. Nitin Upadhyaya comes from science, engineering, and education — exploring how complex systems behave and how clarity emerges from structure. Gurleen Khokhar comes from psychology and spiritual practice — working deeply with emotional pain, presence, and inner healing.

Both of us have lived through difficult relationships, emotional upheavals, and periods of rebuilding life from the ground up.

This lab is our shared offering — where science meets spirituality, and emotional growth becomes accessible, gentle, and grounded.

View professional background

Gurleen works at the heart of emotional healing — offering one-to-one counselling, spiritual guidance, and emotionally safe spaces for deep inner work. Alongside her formal qualifications as a counsellor and educator, her practice is rooted in lived responsibility and long-term caregiving.

Through her childhood years of supporting a close family member through deep emotional and psychological challenges, Gurleen developed a grounded spiritual approach that emphasizes presence, steadiness, and compassionate strength. These experiences shaped her ability to sit with pain without urgency — and to guide others with patience and care.

She is also a widely appreciated talk-show host, known for holding honest, humane conversations around emotional pain, relationships, and healing. At The Relationships Lab, she anchors the work in emotional safety, attuned listening, and the human warmth that makes healing possible.

Dr. Nitin Upadhyay

Emotional Learning Designer · Systems Designer · Educator

View professional background

Nitin designs the structure beneath emotional growth. With over a decade of experience in higher education teaching mathematics, physics, and systems thinking, his work focuses on translating emotional and relational complexity into clear, learnable frameworks.

At The Relationships Lab, he develops the learning architecture, reflection flows, and technology stack — drawing deeply from classical Indian texts alongside modern cognitive and behavioral science. His emphasis is on calm, achievable progress: helping people move from confusion to clarity through small, grounded steps.

His guiding belief is that emotional understanding is not abstract — it can be designed, practiced, and integrated into daily life.

Our journey

A long conversation on psychology, science, and inner life became the first seed of collaboration.

We built platforms centered on listening, presence, and being heard.

We saw the urgent need for emotional education beyond crisis and diagnosis.

Today, we integrate psychology, Indian wisdom, and technology into a calm, structured healing lab.
